About

Nina De La Mare is a Reflexologist, Reiki Master, Fire Keeper, and storyteller whose journey has been shaped by a deep connection to nature and a genuine desire to help others. Her path began in 1994 with a degree in Biological Imaging, where her passion for photography and conservation began to take shape. She then pursued a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (P.G.C.E.), becoming a primary teacher and later a Special Educational Needs coordinator.

Along the way, Nina discovered her own dyslexia, a revelation that profoundly changed how she approached bot her teaching and her understanding of children. This personal insight inspired her to create more inclusive and supportive learning environments for students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring that everyone—regardless of their challenges—had the opportunity to thrive.

As Nina continued to explore her creativity, she found herself drawn to storytelling, and this led her to write Darion’s Gifts, her first fantasy novel. Inspired by a life-changing encounter with two orphaned wolf cubs over 30 years ago, the book is a reflection of her belief in the power of dreams, the importance of overcoming obstacles, and the healing connection we all share with nature. Through the story, Nina hopes to encourage others, young and old, to embrace their authentic selves and remain resilient in the face of adversity.

In 2023, Nina completed the final version of Darion’s Gifts, but her journey didn’t end there. She is now working on bringing the story to life through an audiobook and an audio drama, with the aim of offering resources that can support emotional growth and self-awareness in children and families—whether traditional or home-schooling.

Nina is also passionate about making the messages of Darion’s Gifts accessible to a wider audience. She is currently working on translating the audiobook into several languages, so that the themes of resilience, authenticity, and emotional intelligence can resonate with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Fear is contained in the mind!

Through her varied experiences, Nina’s journey is one of quiet resilience, creativity, and a heartfelt commitment to making a positive difference. She hopes that her work continues to inspire those who encounter it, encouraging them to nurture a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them.
